Edmund
Burroughs House
Princeton, New Jersey
The Edmund Burroughs
House, built in Hopewell township in 1787, was rescued from demolition
in 1992 and was reassembled nearby as the core of an expanded house for
which the New Jersey Barn Company designed compatible general additions.
The 18th century
residence and 19th century outbuildings were painstakingly dissassembled,
restored and reconstructed to recreate an original historic farm.
The original
c1740 house, known as the Calf, is joined to a 1791 addition, known as
the Cow. A recently constructed Federal style wing uses period materials.
